Change to fund name, investment objective and reduction in fees – Threadneedle (Lux) – Pan European Equities

Threadneedle has announced a change to the fund name, investment objective and a reduction in fees to its Threadneedle (Lux) – Pan European Equities fund which will take effect from 2 October 2020 (the “effective date”).

The Threadneedle (Lux) - Pan European Equities fund features in our open-architecture products and will be subject to changes detailed in the Threadneedle notification documents opposite.

The Threadneedle (Lux) - Pan European Equities fund can be found in our guided architecture products Oracle, Paragon, Quantum, Quantum Malaysia, Regular Savings Plan and Regular Savings Plan Malaysia. A summary of the changes to the fund name, OCF and investment objective policy are detailed in the tables below. 

 

We have written to our guided-architecture policyholders, or their appointed investment adviser, who are impacted by the notification informing them of the changes and their option for switching to a new fund if they prefer. Servicing financial advisers will receive a sample of the letter for their information.

Summary of upcoming change to investment policy

From 2 October 2020, the investment objective and policy of the Pan European ESG Equities Portfolio fund will change to achieve capital appreciation through investment in companies with strong or improving environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics. 

 

The Portfolio will continue to be actively managed, and invest principally in the equity securities of large companies domiciled in Europe or with significant European activities. The Portfolio may further invest in the equity securities of European Smaller Companies and Money Market Instruments. 

 

The Portfolio may use financial derivative instruments for hedging purposes. The Sub-Advisor focuses on selecting companies with strong or improving ESG characteristics, as outlined in the Portfolio’s ESG Investment Guidelines. 

 

Those companies will demonstrate leadership through strong environmental, social, and governance practices.
